What is INMETRO and what is its relationship with CTBC?
INMETRO is the government agency that accredits certification bodies. CTBC is a private body accredited by INMETRO to carry out assessments in specific scopes.
-
How long does the certification process take?
The timeline depends on the scope. In general, processes for industrial products take between 3 and 6 months from the request to the issuance of the certificate.
-
Can CTBC help us prepare our company?
CTBC does not provide consulting services — this is a structural requirement to ensure impartiality. During the process, we clarify requirements and provide technical feedback on nonconformities identified.
-
What happens if my product is rejected?
We identify the nonconformities, communicate them formally and set a deadline for corrective actions. Once corrected, the item is reassessed.
-
What is the difference between product certification and ISO 9001?
Product certification attests that a specific product meets the standards. ISO 9001 certifies the organization's quality management system. The two certifications are complementary.
